Presentation and objective

The old Albergue of the Macau Holy House of Mercy, located in the typical S. Lázaro Neighbourhood, was object of renovation and restoration works in 2003 under the mastery and vision of the Brother Carlos Marreiros and with the altruistic collaboration of engineers Gilberto Gomes and José Silveirinha.

Three isolated blocks, built, respectively, in the first, second, and fourth decade of the past century compose the Albergue, which has in its patio two gigantic and centuries old camphor trees.

In this space of excellence, diverse cultural activities, exhibitions, conferences, short-term courses and workshops have been organized, by different cultural entities and associations, encompassing the cultural sphere of the mission of the Macau Holy House of Mercy.
